Xochilt Ruvalcaba is a painter, printmaker, and muralist living and creating in Portland Oregon.
Xochilt is a full-time artist working out of her studio in Portland Oregon. She offers Original Fine Art Paintings, along with Printmaking works.
Her biggest inspirations come just as much from life’s moments, memories, and dreams as it does the daily grind. Art is a documentation of her mind's ever-changing adaptation to experiences and times. She grew up in a home where art wasn’t accessible. That type of childhood propelled her to understand how important and amazing it is to experience art and share it as well.
Her most well-known piece of art is the murals she painted in downtown Portland Oregon. The Installation titled ‘All Mamas Are Summoned’ has been logged in to the art documented for the Black Lives Matter movement with the Smithsonian Institution. She has worked with and donated art and time to organizations such as Don’t Shoot PDX, Educaté Ya, and The Children’s Healing Art Project.
Her father was a musician, teaching himself guitar on the city bus in Guadalajara, and played so many instruments, so inspired by that love of creation and art. She learned to draw and taught herself art that way, not on the city bus, but teaching herself and growing as an artist regardless of where life took her.
She has lived a uniquely beautiful life, full of tremendous tragedies and triumphs. Each moment contributing to the next. All in time creating the artist She is today.
